Seabeck Beach House

A much needed update for this now bright beach house, the original kitchen was dark, dated, and lacked practical storage. Our design opens up the kitchen to the dining room helping create space for a slighting larger island, cabinets that go to the ceiling, designated work spaces. We moved the entry to the kitchen which helped create a more workable functioning layout, the kitchen now has a designated prep, pantry, and message space. New hardwood flooring throughout replacing travertine tile was a great decision to make the flow through the kitchen and dining room space feel bigger, brighter, and warm up the space. Our beach inspired color scheme of blues and whites and choosing to do painted cabinets was a great design decision replacing the dated oak cabinets with the beige travertine tile floors that felt stark and dated. Updated lighting also helped make the space feel bright and inviting adding under and interior cabinet lighting, new can lighting, and glass pendant lighting over the sink. The blue teardrop mosaic backsplash is a fun way to tie the beach theme together and we love all the beach themed details that the client added.
