A bit of DIY with a lot of light and color...

This kitchen suffered from being claustrophobic with awkward angles and not much counter space. The first issue that was tackled was to remove the posts that flanked the island and the over head island cabinets. They did not add much storage and blocked the gorgeous view of the mountains. By opening up the island and maintaining the existing floor plan, we were able to create a more functional work surface, introduced more vibrant colors, and brought in a lot more light. It now perfectly suits the homeowners needs as well as their fun personalities.
