Courtney Carpenter- Junior Designer & Showroom Coordinator

Designer, mom, and crafter. Never not hungry for ramen, travel, adventures, and laughs.

Courtney has had a number of professional roles, from victim advocate to real estate agent. Her current role as a design assistant allows her to focus on her true passion: design and décor. She loves northwest contemporary and mid century design. Her own style being more modern and warm with a little bit of whimsy.

Native to Houston Texas, both of her parents worked at NASA, her mother as a graphic artist and father as an aerospace engineer. Her mother has been her biggest influence from day one, being an accomplished artist and having the best taste of anyone she she has ever met. Courtney moved to the PNW in 2004 and loves to spend time outdoors hiking and camping with her two kids and her very sporty standard poodle, Pedro, who she is training to be a truffle dog.

Christy Penney - Design Assistant & Showroom Coordinator

Designer, mother, phở enthusiast.

Christy's unique skill set and aesthetic has been honed by a life of diverse and creative work.  Prior to earning her Master's Certification from Heritage School of Interior Design, she worked as a Props Artisan in Seattle's biggest theaters.  There she utilized the hands-on skills of building, fabricating, and quick problem solving, all while staying true to the vernacular of an artistic scenic design.  As the owner of a fine-dining restaurant, she converted a 100-year-old farm house into a stylish and functional commercial building which became a local staple as much for its ambiance as for its offerings. Having built her own house alongside her husband, she is familiar with all of the stages of a home, from the swinging of hammers to the hanging of wallpaper.

Sustainability is key to both her design work and her life.  She lives with her son and husband on a homestead with chickens, bees, fruit trees and an ample kitchen garden.  A workshop is often overflowing the vintage furniture being reupholstered, funky old lamps waiting to be rewired, fruit drying, and vegetables fermenting.  She also in an accomplished hula-hooper, and does a legendary karaoke rendition of Young MC's Bust a Move.
